Malacca trip
yes, finally got the time to blog and post up the pictures.
work this week was on the triple can. especially on labour day, everyone was rushing to ikea coz is was a ph and ikea is having sales from 1-4 may... damn suck lah, coz the queue never ends and you totally cant see the tail of the queue either.
anyway, back to the pictures that i took last weekend.
FRIDAY : 25/04/2008
it was fri morning and had to wake up at 5.45am to prepare to leave house by 6.30am lah. SUPER TIRED CAN, coz worked till quite late on thurs night ... therefore lack of sleep ZZZzzzZZzzzZzz. anyway, had my dad drive Mother and GMother and i to Ghim Moh since the CC was there. yup, we joined a travel group organised by CC. as expected, most of the people there were old folks. i thought i was the youngest there but there were 3 other kids as well.... meaning the 3 kids pontang (play truancy) school. LOL.
anyway, the coach drove us to Tanah Merah; to this place:

Singapore Cruise Centre

random
i thought we could immediately get on the cruise through here.... but we had to transit twice lah coz the cruise was anchored somewhere else.

entry card to departures...

card for the cruise, named Royale Star aka 皇星

this was one of the mini ferry that ferried us to the cruise.

when we entered, the walk way is bloody small as you can see.
by the time we reached the cruise, lunch time liao.

and the restaurant quite small.... but the food is nice.
bloody disappointed. i thought that the cruise was going to be super big or at least it have a decent row of shops or arcade for kids to play... BUT totally dont have any of that. just that it has a casino in there. but mini type that kind.
and hooray! restriction for those below 18! that means i could play! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
so i played roulette. Mother gave me $50 to play with.... i won like $40 at first but then lost.... then win back... overall no win no lose. hahahaha
if you guys are wondering what is roulette, i found this pic on the net:

so you bet on the numbr which you think the ball will fall into. by math, your probability of winning your number is 1/37. fun, i think, compared to jackpot.

open deck of the the cruise... and so pathetic; the small pool is even closed.
i only liked the cabin

btw, that's Mother
so, the first night... i spent my time eating, playing roulette... and more psp....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SATURDAY : 26/04/08
got to wake up damn early lah. morning call was like 5.30am... coz the ferry to JB will leave at 6.50am... anyway, food was fantastic on the cruise. after leaving the cruise, we ferried to JB's jetty... taking about 1 hour and 20 min like that.
meanwhile, on this ferry.... i managed to capture the photo of the cruise plus sunrise!!!! then.. continued to sleep...

nice right?!!! one of my fave shots....coz you dont see this everyday.

and sunrise. well not exactly those kind where the sun is halfway up the horizon... but this still looks damn cool!
anyway... got delayed while waiting for our coach at JB.. coz all of us waited at the wrong venue... and the coach had to turn one big round to pick us up. so, i played psp AGAIN! "PSP, your best friend abroad!" - haha, anyhow create de. (die die must bring charger everywhere)
the ride up to Malacca was rather boring.. so i slept somemore.. didnt listen to the guide. anyway, we stopped by Yong Peng, some place a little south from Malacca. there, we got off to visit a bee farm.
too bad, forgotten to take my phone along... no pictures.
anyway.. nothing much to explore.. the place mainly showcased the different species of bees around the world. they even have a exhibit shelf that showcased honey from all over the world. then, they ask you to taste their honey... and then buy their product.
typical aunties like Mother and GMother bought honey. cost about RM70 for the big bottle. Mother bought 2 big bottles and GMother bought 1 big one...... in the end... WHO CARRY???? ME LAH!!! diaos. (later will show picture at the end for foodstuff)
here is a glimpse of 1 bottle:

tiring day anyway... to sum up for that afternoon, when to some temples... had lunch at a nyona baba restaurant.... then even bought 4D while sitting in the coach. (my mother still ask me to text back to singapore for her).........
FINALLY. HOTEL! damn happy, coz got cleaner toilets. (didnt dare to use the toilets outside)

eh, i am seriously not trying to take a photo of the lady who is taking a photo of her husband. LOL. just purely conincidental!

nice room for a trip which i consider cheap for S$260 (inclusive of 3 main meals, travel and accomodation).

window view.

plus can see the pool too.

name of hotel: bayview
plus free line dancing as well. lol. but only on tuesdays and thursdays. no luck
after settling down. met up in the evening to visit more places...
if you have ever been to Malacca, this should be familiar : Red Houses

nope, that man is definitely not gay. just wrong timing... wrong pose.

i got fascinated by the "mushroom" head trees / plants

a shopping lane near the Red Houses. "Jonker Walk" should be the street name.
and everything sold are almost the same.

there, the day ended for saturday.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SUNDAY : 27/04/08
after breakfast, we packed up everything and left the hotel.

anyway... sunday was a blah blah... coz can feel the tiredness liao.
we stopped by a shopping mall but for 40 mins only! not enough time!!!!!!!
ahaha. i bought Bata shoes there. MIRACLE CAN. coz i never ever go and buy anything from Bata in Singapore. anyway.. in total, the 3 of us bought 4 pairs of shoes. one each and the last pair for my grandmom at home.
OH DEAR. imagine the number of items that we need to carry... and i havent even mention the foodstuff we bought!
on the way back to Singapore, Mr Yap (boss' son of the travel agency) bought 'Ah Long Pte Ltd" aka "老师嫁老大"
i laughed the whole journey back, damn lame.
anyway.. that's bout it.
my ratings for this trip will be: (out of 5 stars)
accomodation : 3.5

FOODSTUFF~!! (had the obligation to buy somethings back for my mahjong kakee (s8 guys), my kids, and other colleages)

this is bloody heavy honey i was talking about. the one without packaging is wild honey contained in glass bottle! freaking freaking heavy. coz GMother bought that one as well.. that means 2 glass bottles and 1 plastic one! hand almost break!!!

this lao gong bing is grandfather de... not as in husband ...they also had ah mah bing (grandmother biscuit) but not nice.. didnt buy
